On February 21, 2012, the Northern Kentucky Restaurant Association in cooperation with the Greater Cincinnati Restaurant Association
will host its 21st Annual Mardi Gras for Homeless Children at the Northern Kentucky Convention Center. The 2011 Mardi Gras for Homeless
Children raised over $1,000,000 which put the event over the $1,000,000 mark of total proceeds raised since its inception! Proceeds will
again benefit four homeless children agencies in Cincinnati and Northern Kentucky: Bethany House Services, Brighton Center’s Homeward
Bound, Mercy Franciscan at St. John and Welcome House of Northern Kentucky, Inc., assisting these agencies with their food programs throughout
the year. This annual fundraiser is one of our city’s most unique culinary tasting experiences with over 50 local restaurants, chefs and
food and beverage purveyors providing top quality culinary creations and beverages. Included in this high energy night is live New Orleans Jazz
with Robin Lacy and DeZydeco leading the Royal Court in a bead throwing parade featuring Steve Cauthen as Grand Marshal, Kit Andrews, Local 12
Anchor as Queen and Doc Thompson, WLW Radio Personality as King. The evening culminates with a live and silent auction that engages enthusiastic
bidding from the Mardi Gras revelers.
